Cancelling as a host
Cancelling a confirmed reservation seriously affects the guest, so it carries consequences:
- the guest receives a full refund, with no deductions;
- a cancellation fee is charged (higher if you cancel within 7 days of arrival) and deducted from your future payouts;
- an automated public note appears on your listing — "The host cancelled a reservation X days before arrival" (visible for 12 months);
- cancellations disqualify you from Superhost status.
If you truly must cancel, do it as early as possible — and consider a reservation change first; new dates are often better for both sides.
