How to book a stay

Find a place using search (destination, dates, guests) or by tapping one of the categories on the homepage (houses, villas, boats, lighthouses…). In search you can switch on "Show total price" to instantly see the full amount including fees for your dates, and flexible travellers can browse without a destination at all ("Anywhere", "Weekend getaway", "A week away").

On the listing page pick your dates and guests — the price recalculates instantly. Depending on the listing:

• Instant booking — you pay right away and the reservation is confirmed automatically.
• Request to book — you pay right away, but the host has 24 hours to accept. If they decline or don't respond, you get a full refund.

After confirmation you receive an e-mail with a unique booking code, and the reservation is always available under Trips. Note: a verified identity is required before booking (see the identity verification article).
