The security deposit

A host may require a security deposit for their listing. The deposit is charged together with the reservation and clearly itemised in the price breakdown.

Automatic refund: if everything goes smoothly after checkout, the deposit is automatically returned to your wallet within the set period (14 days after checkout by default — the platform administrator defines it).

If the host reports damage: the refund is paused until the case is resolved in the Resolution Centre. If the host's claim is upheld (by agreement or by the administrator's decision), the awarded amount is deducted from the deposit and the remainder returned to your wallet.
